Garipçe Castle

The first stop on our list of places to visit in Garipçe is Garipçe Castle, which has the same name as the region. You can come across many important historical buildings from the Ottoman and Byzantine times in this region.

Located on a hill, this castle was built by Baron François de Tott, who was of Hungarian origin and known as a French architect, by Mustafa III, who served as the Sultan. This structure also stands out as a historical castle built by carving the inside of the rocks. This castle is an important historical castle built to prevent enemy ships from passing through the Bosphorus. Since it is located on a hill, it hosts a unique view of the Black Sea and the famous Bosphorus view.

Watchtower

The structure located in another high part of the region is the Watchtower. You can also have the opportunity to see this historical tower by purchasing a Garipçe bus ticket.

Unfortunately, there is no clear information about who and when this tower was built. Garipçe is one of the buildings that you should definitely include in your travel plan during your trip. By purchasing a Garipçe flight ticket, you can visit these historical spots and go on a pleasant journey into the history of the village.

Grand Harbor

The next route on our list of places to visit in Garipçe is the Grand Port. Here you have the chance to see many historical ruins up close.

There used to be a shipyard from the Ottoman period in the area where the port is located. However, today there are no traces of this shipyard. Among the historical ruins you can see here, there are many historical houses as well as historical buildings such as churches and baths. You can reach the Grand Port, which is among the frequent destinations of those who like to visit historical places, by purchasing a flight ticket.

Menekşe Beach

If you go to Garipçe during the summer, we would like to point out that there are areas where you can swim.

Located close to the region, Menekşe Beach is located on the coastal part of Sarıyer district. One of the most striking features of this beach is that it only serves women on weekdays. On Saturdays and Sundays, both men and women can enter. We recommend that you come by taking this rule into consideration.

Facilities such as umbrellas and sun loungers are also available on the beach. There is also a business where you can meet your food or beverage needs. If you want to enjoy the sea away from the city crowds, you can also come here.

Soguksu Fountain

The next sightseeing point on our list of places to visit in Garipçe is Soğuksu Fountain, which flows between the rocks. The reason why this fountain is called cold water is because the flowing water is very cold. After seeing the fountain among the historical fountains closely, you can also visit the Hacı Suleyman Efendi Fountain. In addition to these historical fountains, you can also have the opportunity to closely observe many other historical fountains such as Hasan Pasha Kaptan Gazi Fountain.

Rumeli Feneri Village

With the Garipçe bus ticket, you can also have the chance to visit Rumeli Feneri Village, which is a fishing village.

When you arrive at the square of this village, located approximately 2.5 kilometers from the Garipçe region, you will be greeted by a centuries-old plane tree. There are various places where you can have a drink around this tree. If you wish, you can sit here and drink beverages such as tea and coffee.

Since this place is also known as a fishing village, there are also many fish restaurants where you can taste fresh fish. We think that having come this far, we cannot return without seeing the most important building. Of course, this structure is the Rumeli Lighthouse! We recommend that you take a close look at this lighthouse, which has a height of approximately thirty meters.
